The Wehrwissenschaftliches Institut für Schutztechnologien - ABCAtomar, Biologisch, Chemisch-Schutz (WISWehrwissenschaftliches Institut für Schutztechnologien - ABC -Schutz) is a departmental research institute of the Federal Ministry of Defense and is part of the Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr (BAAINBwBundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr). It is the only major German institute dealing with protection against the effects of biological, chemical and nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
