The commission is a working group for the promotion of cultural anthropological-folkloristic research in the state of Lower Saxony, which integrates the members in a professional association.
It issues scientific publications on cultural anthropological-folkloristic research in and about the state of Lower Saxony, organizes scientific conferences and serves the exchange of information among the members as well as with corresponding institutions within and outside Lower Saxony.
