The Forschungsgemeinschaft Werkzeuge und Werkstoffe e. V. (FGW) is a private, non-profit institution for applied research. Originally founded by the Bergisch tool industry in 1952, the FGW today supports companies throughout Germany in the development of innovative ideas across all sectors. The focus is on tools, materials and transformation & innovation. Projects are carried out as publicly funded collaborative research or as direct contract developments.
